Blockworks Salinas Concrete and Masonry, salinasconcreteandmasonry.com, hello@salinasconcreteandmasonry.com

Accepting these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or ask Blockworks Salinas Concrete and Masonry for an estimate or for work. By using the site or booking with us, you agree to them.

If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You're still welcome to call us at (831) 243-7031 with questions. When a signed written agreement for your job says something different from these terms, the written agreement controls for that job.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in Salinas, CA, and we work with concrete, brick, block and stone. That includes foundation repair, chimney and fireplace work, tuckpointing, retaining walls, pavers, walkways and outdoor kitchen masonry for homes in Salinas and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew on our About page.

The descriptions on this site are general. Your job's actual scope, materials and methods are the ones written in your estimate and agreement, because every house and site is different.

Estimates and pricing

We give free in-person estimates with no obligation. We need to see the work before we can price it, so we don't quote firm prices over the phone or on this site.

An estimate is based on what we can see and what you tell us when we visit. Some problems only show up once the work is open, like damaged block behind a wall or a weak base under old pavers. When that happens, we stop, explain what we found and get your approval in writing before doing any extra work or charging more for it.

An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to update it.

Scheduling and cancellation

We schedule your job once you've accepted the estimate and we've agreed on a start date. Weather, material deliveries, inspections and conditions found on site can move a schedule, and we'll tell you as soon as we know the date is changing.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please call us as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you may owe for those materials and the work done up to that point, as your agreement explains. Nothing here limits any right to cancel that California law gives you.

Payment

The amount you owe, any deposit, the payment schedule and the ways you can pay are all set out in your written agreement. Final payment is due when the work in the agreement is complete, unless the agreement says otherwise.

If a payment is late, we may pause the work until it's resolved. We'll talk with you before taking any further step to collect.

Our work and warranties

We're fully licensed and insured, and our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. Any written warranty for your job, including what it covers and for how long, is the one stated in your agreement.

Masonry and concrete can change over time for reasons outside our control, such as soil movement, settling, earthquakes, tree roots, drainage on the property, freeze and thaw, or later work by others. Unless your agreement says otherwise, we don't warrant against damage from those causes, normal cracking that doesn't affect strength, or slight differences in color and texture from one batch of natural stone, brick or concrete to the next.

Materials made by others carry their makers' warranties. We'll pass along any maker's warranty information we receive for your job.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent California law allows, Blockworks Salinas Concrete and Masonry isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property or lost income, that come from our work or from using this website.

Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, including for harm caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Using this website

This site gives general information about masonry and concrete work, and we try to keep it accurate and current. It isn't engineering, legal or permit advice for your property, so please ask us or the right local office before relying on it for a decision.

The words, photos and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. Please don't copy them for commercial use without asking us first. Links to other websites are there for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.

Settling a disagreement

If something about our work isn't right, call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly once we come back out and look at them together.

If we can't agree, we'll both try in good faith to settle it through mediation before going to court, unless the matter fits in small claims court. Any court case will be heard in the courts of Monterey County, California, unless the law requires a different place.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the newest version will always be posted on this page. Changes don't affect a job already covered by a signed agreement unless we both agree in writing.

If part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
